“When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord; he brought me into a spacious place.” (Psalms 118: 5, New International Version)
When we feel pressed and pressured, boxed in and stuck; when it feels as if our options are limited or that there are no answers, our salvation truly is at hand.
We can turn away from any dark presentation of the senses and from our own fears and doubts, as the psalmist continually did, and find God, full of wisdom and loving care. We can turn to our mighty Father-Mother—give up the personal ego that can’t figure it out, for the divine solution and resolution from the One Who knows and loves.
God and His Love bring us into a “spacious place.” His conscious presence leads us not only to some narrow escape from hell, but into a large and wonderful expanse of infinite possibilities. He opens our thought to opportunities and ideas that answer our immediate needs and that also broaden our awareness of more goodness on the horizon to be realized and experienced.
This spaciousness that is revealed when we call upon God with humble receptivity, illumines our way, progresses us, invites us in to a large and luminous moment of greater insight, joy, healing, and peace.
