“Progress is born of experience. It is the ripening of mortal man, through which the mortal is dropped for the immortal.” (Science and Health, page 296)

Our human lives are not wasteful or declining. They are constant progression. The steps and circumstances, the overcoming and the learning, are experience that leads us to the very best awareness of Life as it was meant to be.

We are not aging and eventually retiring from life. We are ripening. We are coming to fruition, maturing into our full flower, developing into our prime state of being. This life we lead provides daily opportunities to drop the old way of thinking for a new, wiser, more progressive way. Each step forward we take is development, advancement, because it is impelled and governed by God, by Spirit, by the Truth that must be made known.

Let’s recognize and be eager to give up the mortal sense of ourselves. Let’s allow our learning lives to shine us up, display our bright colors and our true and natural and necessary purpose—to show forth God’s nature and goodness, fully and freely, genuinely and eagerly!
