“For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.” (Galatians 5: 13, New Living Translation)

Freedom is a divine right. The Christ came revealing the good news to us. We have received this loving message telling us that we were born of God’s own Life and Love, and therefore are free and can live accordingly.

This freedom is our divine inheritance. We should be careful not to sully this gift by using it to behave in a way that doesn’t fully honor its Source, or dignify us as the blessed and beautiful sons and daughters that we are. We are not in bondage to sense or to any other man’s opinions of us. This isn’t a cause for arrogance or selfish abandon. It is a reason for humility, gratitude, and compassion.

For the freedom we have comes of Love itself. It is because of Love that we are free, and it is through Love that we truly express and feel those benefits. In serving one another, caring for others as we are led to; in sharing our affection, respect, and kindness freely, do we also feel free ourselves, right, and satisfied.

Accept your freedom and live it with grateful joy. Share the good news with others and let them join you in your happy dance of Life!
