“Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.” (I Peter 4: 12-13, New International Version)
Don’t freak out! Keep calm and trust your vision, your goodness, your God. When we are claiming this Truth of Love we may be confronted with opposition, just as Jesus was. We may stir things up a bit and it may feel like we ourselves are being punished, persecuted, tested.
But you are safe. The outrage of error is not a real power, enemy, presence. It is the resistance to your good, but it comes with a lot of pretense and nothing behind it. Don’t get fascinated or perplexed when things seem challenging. You are not doing anything wrong and you are not in danger. You are being given a blessed opportunity to stay true to Truth, to trust Love, and to put into practice the very Christ-ideal that seems to be opposed.
Know that you are bound for glory. Know that what Jesus proved of everlasting Life, of triumph over all error, is your destiny, so to speak, as well. Rejoice that you are being given the opportunity to lean more on this sweet Truth of Love and that the phantoms of fear and the devilish beliefs that breathe fire on your peace, can do nothing to your victory. Your goodness may make you a target, but this very God-quality is also your protection, your inspiration, your power, and your peace.
