“It is man’s moral right to annul an unjust sentence, a sentence never inflicted by divine authority.” (Science and Health, page 381)
Don’t let yourself be thrown in a prison of sickness, fear, loss, trouble. There is a higher authority than mortal mind and its unfair and rampant sentencing. Just because the senses would try to accuse us of illness, weakness, or pain doesn’t mean we need to plead guilty. Mortal mind may be a convincing prosecutor, but its arguments are not based on the law and must fail.
We have a moral right to, at any time, annul that sentence against us. We are allowed to negate that unkind decision and agree to be set free. Material laws are random and without Principle. They aren’t solid truth because they are based on premises that are variable, erratic, fallible.
Divine authority governs all. It is the law of Love, of Spirit, and of Truth. God’s law is as omnipotent as He is, and it is enforced by its truthfulness. We can and must utilize this law on our own behalf. We must refuse to be sentenced by mortal opinions or even by the testimony of the senses, by mindless matter. We have an immediate defense. God’s Truth of our own identity is unquestionable. It stands forever that we were born free and so remain free. Our freedom has no conditions on it except that we claim it and live it, fully and gratefully.

I love this from Nate Talbot’s article “Don’t Learn to Live With It”:
“She [MBE] called on us not to fool around with sin or sickness, and insisted we vigorously reject discord—dismiss it, oppose it, rise up against it, overthrow it, blot it out of thought, resist submission to it, banish it, refuse to plead guilty, be just to yourself, contradict error, cast it out, reverse the condition, shut it out, exercise divine authority, be strong, firm, fearless, calm. She is rousing us to experience the Christ in action.”
That’s terrific and right on! Thanks, Amy!
