“Love giveth to the least spiritual idea might, immortality, and goodness, which shine through all as the blossom shines through the bud.” (Science and Health, p. 518)

Love’s nature is evident in all that God creates. God’s brilliance, light, power is the substance and condition of every idea that He caused. This is divine Love’s purpose—to endow all with goodness, with all that is necessary to thrive, to beautifully bear witness to God’s glory and grace.

Even the least of God’s ideas—those that seem smallest and least significant—are blessed with God’s Love, with the qualities that make them grow, glow, and flourish. Every idea is a delight to God, for Love loves to love!

We may feel small at times ourselves. We may feel we aren’t worthy of love or that we are confused or flawed or hopeless cases. Or we may think that others seem unseen or left out. But God gives each one a full measure of His Love, blesses each with His own attributes, that empower and beautify and uplift. Each idea of God, small and unformed, or fully mature, has God’s loving light within it. Each one brings a natural loveliness to the world through their spiritual identity that is always right, immortal, and good.

“The Lord’s love never ends; his mercies never stop. They are new every morning.”
(Lamentations 3:22-23, New Century Version)

We may feel we’ve used up our blessings, pushed the limit on opportunities for healing and renewal. It may seem that we’re beyond hope or that we’ve given up on life, on others, on ourselves.

But each new day begins with God. Each morning, we can awaken to fresh benedictions from our divine Father-Mother. We are always being ushered into a new day full of God’s grace and goodness, blooming with opportunities to receive and to give of God’s Love.

God’s Love is not limited. It doesn’t run out or get fed up with us, even when we are doubting or afraid. God’s Love is like the dawn. It always comes, and it comes with beauty. That sunrise is expected, but its glow still can surprise and delight us with its varied colors and with the new aspects its light brings to what it touches.

God’s mercies never stop. He is always ready to cleanse us of our mistakes through His tender Love. God requires that we show forth His goodness, and He is patiently, steadfastly, loving us in each moment. This healing, saving Love will never stop, and we can receive this good news afresh with each new morning. And gratefully rejoice!

I’ve picked you. I haven’t dropped you. Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you.” (Isaiah 41:9-10, The Message)

Don’t panic. God will not let you go. He hasn’t let you go. You cannot fall out of His loving hands, out of His favor, out of purpose.

You have been chosen, specifically designed to fulfill your necessary place in his plan. Don’t be afraid. God knows you, for He made you. When things seem difficult, He is there to guide you back on track, lift you up above the fear, and to show you what is possible. With Him.

Our God is not simply an ethereal presence that is mostly out of reach for our human needs. Nor is He a person, some kind of super-mortal, that may be near or not, may miss something, may not have time for us.

God is goodness, Love, Truth, Life. He is the Source and substance of those divine and limitless qualities. His wisdom is greater than human intelligence and it is always right, and right where we are, meeting our needs, instructing, encouraging, revealing.

God’s omnipotent presence is holding us and beholding us. We are seen and loved, safe and secure, and created to uniquely express God and His Life.

“For you who revere my name the sun of righteousness shall rise, with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.” (Malachi 4: 2, New Revised Standard Version, Updated Edition)

Reverence. It’s defined as a feeling or attitude of deep respect tinged with awe. It is also an outward manifestation of this feeling.

Revering God’s name, the name and nature of Truth and Love, brings us healing from the very Source that we have held in conscious respect. As we worship God and recognize in Him something so wonderful it is almost beyond words, we truly honor Him. And this feeling of awe is a glorious thing. In itself, it is healing.

We surely have felt a sense of well-being and joy when we witness things that feel almost too beautiful or inspiring to be real, that move us beyond our ability to even explain why. This awe is the divine at work in us, opening us up to something beyond the material and limited, something that inspires us in our souls.

As we recognize God’s power and presence, the fullness of His Love and the perfection of His creation, we can allow this awe to fill us. We can revere and really awaken to the glory that is in God, for us, and for His creation.

And this is joy. This is health. This reverence, this uplifting of thought, moves us and gives us renewed life, expectation, and the wings to fly free into a new morning.

“I choose the God above all gods to shelter me. How then can evil overtake me or any plague come near? For he orders his angels to protect you wherever you go.” (Psalms 91: 9-11, Living Bible)

We are out of harm’s way. We can know our own safety from danger and inherent freedom from fear. We can choose to remember and gratefully trust God, the one and only Who is ever-present Love, divine Life, perfect wisdom.

We find our shelter, our sanctuary of peace and understanding, when we choose to trust God instead of to believe in—to give power to—matter, people, circumstances, as if they were greater than the Almighty. When we recognize and release ourselves to God as All, we begin to see and feel that good is really all that is going on. We stop being afraid of what mortal life may seem to plague us with, chase us with. We stop putting our faith or our fear in time.

Instead, we recognize the protection that is ever with us. We feel the presence of angels and hear their messages of peace, joy, and salvation. Looking to God and honoring His allness, we are led by His wisdom to conscious serenity, a sense of well-being. We are guided naturally out of worry and into grateful joy.

“Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself.” (Philippians 2: 5, Message Bible)

What an inspiring and motivating thought! Can we do this? Can we consider how Christ Jesus might have thought about himself and do our best to think of ourselves in the same way?

Jesus was surely teaching us. He showed us the wonderful joy, peace, and power that came from knowing his oneness with God, his Father-Mother. He knew he was loved. He knew his life wasn’t confined to mortality and materiality, but that he was a dweller in the infinite heaven of goodness, eternal Life, everlasting Love. Jesus proved that this acknowledgment of his relationship with God—thinking of himself as God’s son—inspired him. It gave him confidence and the ability to achieve what no one had before.

But Jesus was letting us know how we are, who we are, as well. We can think of ourselves as children of God. We can be conscious of this bond of goodness and grace that never leaves us alone, that feeds us with Love, directs us in life, and that reminds us of our eternal blessedness, our special place in God and in this world as His reflection.

This verse may be more familiar as it appears in other translations where Paul reminds us to “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” So, let it. Simply allow that way of thinking to take over your consciousness. This is not attempting to put on a holy character. It is yielding gratefully to your true selfhood, the one that God made and loves.

Think of yourselves as Christ thought of himself. Own this mentality. There is no arrogance in it. It is a humble and powerful release to God’s Love.

“Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him:” (Revelation 19: 6-7)

Can I get an amen? Can we all take a moment to recognize the presence of God and His mighty goodness here and now?

Let’s join together in silent (or audible) praise for God and His omnipotence, His great power and perfect control over all, over each of us.

Let’s choose to be glad and rejoice. Let’s make the decision to shut out the clamor of fear and doubt and discouragement and to lift our hearts to what is really going on. Let’s give honor to what is honorable, rather than worshipping, with our attention, the evil and darkness that is powerless to help us because it contains no Truth.

Alleluia—praise the Lord! Conscious praise is a wonderful thing. It gives gratitude for good and focuses us on God. We become awake to the real and loving and right, rather than being mesmerized by the unreal, the unkind and evil. Praise is a wake-up call to life with all its joys and glories. Our alleluia shuts out the voices of fear and gloom and allows us to join the glory-choir that sees and revels in God’s holy light and life and love!

“Live together in peace, and our instruction to this end is to reprimand the unruly, encourage the timid, help the weak and be very patient with all men. Be sure that no one repays a bad turn by a bad turn; good should be your objective always, among yourselves and in the world at large.” (I Thessalonians 5: 14-15, J.B. Phillips New Testament)

Have a conscious objective to do good. Always.

That may seem difficult, but it certainly is something to strive for. If we want the world to be a better place, our individual lives to feel more peaceful and rewarding, then it starts with us. We can do our best to help one another. We can alert those who are behaving without care for others and for themselves, to a better and more satisfying way of thinking and being. We can do this with strength along with kindness and respect.

We can be encouraging toward those who may feel unseen or who don’t know their own blessedness. We can help those feeling weak and uncertain and do it with patience and understanding.

We can realize that revenge is never an answer. Love, on the other hand, is always an answer. And we can seek and find this answer, conscientiously and daily, by turning to God with a motive to be better. We can discover, honor, and utilize this ever-present and powerful Love actively toward one another. We can let peace begin with us.

“Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.” (I Peter 5: 7, Passion Translation)

We all have times when we feel overwhelmed by the cares and trials of life. We feel out of our depth, swimming in fear and doubt and confusion. We may feel a weight of responsibility, decisions to make, bodies to fix, relationships to mend.

These times of stress are times for release. They are opportunities to remember God’s mighty and tender care for us. We can pour out those worries, give them up, let them go. They are not ours to hold and to work out or drown in. God has the power and wisdom to take all those cares and make them nothing. We can leave our concerns with God, and find a peace that reveals healing, solutions unseen, and resolutions realized naturally.

Worry and stress are based on a belief that we need to be in control, that we run the ship, that there is something too great for us to handle or that time is not on our side. But God is not disturbed or concerned. His harmonious government remains active right where we are. His vision is clear, and He feels no burden from us, for we are His beloved children.

Let those worries flow out of you and onto God’s capable shoulders. Nothing is too difficult for Him, and His Love is always more than enough to bring us strength, comfort, healing, and true peace.
