“Love knows no limit to its endurance, no end to its trust, no fading of its hope; it can outlast anything. It is, in fact, the one thing that still stands when all else has fallen.” (I Corinthians 13: 8, J. B. Phillips New Testament)

Love is invincible. Love is powerful. Love is eternal. Love is here and now and ours to feel and express.

We may find ourselves relying on others, on finances, on material opportunities. We may feel that our lives and the lives of others are under attack by hate, injustice, destructive elements. But these limited resources and unrighteous forces are not truly powerful. They don’t have endurance. They don’t have intelligence. They don’t have spiritual energy or the everlasting law of Truth in them.

Love is limitless. It is always available. Divine Love is ever-present and irresistible and undaunted. Love doesn’t fight. It simply annuls its opposition through its persistent tenderness, its light to the darkness of thought and action.

Love is the winner. We can consciously accept the Love that is and seek to share that abundant love. This can move mountains. It can change hearts. Love will outlast all. But let’s not wait for that moment. Let’s begin with Love. Let’s start and finish with God Who is Love.

“For the Holy Spirit speaks to us and tells our spirit that we are children of God.” (Romans 8: 16, New Life Version)

Hush and listen. The Holy Spirit, God’s voice of Truth to mankind, is speaking to us. This divine impulse seeks us out in the depths of our hearts and tells us—reminds us—who we are and have always been. The children of God.

It isn’t merely a statement that we read or a doctrine that has been told to us. The Holy Spirit is more powerfully precise and irresistible. It comes to us right where we are, touches our very inner knowing, and tells us that we have a right to believe. That, in fact, believing that we are God’s children is the key to living a good life both here and hereafter.

The Holy Spirit is God’s presence felt and received. And this Holy Spirit does not come to us in obscure and incomprehensible ways. God is Love, and His Word comes lovingly, seeking us and finding us, revealing our perfection in His eyes and embracing us in His everlasting affection. The Holy Spirit tells our spirit—that essence of our own being aside from ego and matter—that we are God’s own beloved, worthy, safe.

This Holy Spirit is persistent. It will keep on seeking us out. Let’s listen willingly. Let’s be found.

“So now you are no longer strangers and aliens. Rather, you are fellow citizens with God’s people, and you belong to God’s household.” (Ephesians 2: 19, Common English Bible)

Welcome home! Feel and accept that you belong. You are one of God’s people and you are worthy of all the rights and joys that provides.

And this is true for us all. No one is left out of God’s grace. There are no foreigners or outsiders in God’s family, God’s house. God has made us all. He is our creator and our Father-Mother. We were all born of Love and governed by His invincible Principle. We are citizens by birth in the kingdom of heaven—the true state of Being that is God’s reality here and now.

We may have had times in our lives where we feel like aliens. We may feel unaccepted or misunderstood. We may feel like fish out of water in some environment or like we are being judged falsely. We may start to believe there is some truth to the judgment.

But God’s Truth overrules all these beliefs and concerns. You are not a stranger to God. You are not strange to God. You are seen. You are understood. You belong in His house, in His family, as His own beloved. Gratefully accept your worth, your status, and cherish the great family of man of which you are right now and always a most necessary part.

“Before you do anything, put your trust totally in God and not in yourself. Then every plan you make will succeed.” (Proverbs 16:3, the Passion Translation)

Pause before you rush forward. Take a moment, before you do anything, for that most vital action: trust.

Consciously putting our faith, our total trust in God rather than ourselves, reveals the right way, the best way, the most productive path to follow. Our plans succeed and they aren’t fraught with fear or force, willfulness or self-doubt. Leaning on and listening to God brings the divine wisdom to bear on our day and leads us progressively as well as lovingly.

Our plans are more likely to succeed when we align them with God. For we belong to God, and His purpose for us is the one which suits us and bears the most fruit. It also expresses His intention—to show forth goodness, light, and love, just as He would have us uniquely do.

We don’t lose ourselves in this total trust. We find a freedom and agility, unexpected capacity and strength, and see what is truly possible to us. Reliance on God brings out qualities within that exceed our expectations, surprise and delight us, and bring us not only success but a real sense of contentment as well.

“You, Lord, give true peace. You give peace to those who depend on you. You give peace to those who trust you.” (Isaiah 26: 3, International Children’s Bible)

What is true peace? It is that genuine serenity within that goes beyond a calm environment. It is spiritual, a settled feeling that eases our burdens and at the same time gives us clarity about what we may need to see and do and be.

This is God’s peace. And as we rely on God, Truth and Love, we receive this peace by our consciousness of it. For peacefulness is not a goal or a hope. It isn’t something off in the distance and not available to each one of us. Peace is the presence of God and God is in every place, in every circumstance, for all to feel and accept.

Let’s trust in God. Let’s stop pushing away peace in the name of our issues andour egos which must control and fix and do and instead discover what a dependence on God can bring us.

Our birthright is peace. We have a right to it, and we find it not by controlling outward situations or by ruminating about troubles. We feel true and deep peace by our release to God’s all-encompassing, all-comforting, all-loving government. Claiming this peace within us is both settling and empowering. It gives us the gentle certainty that is able to bring light to our lives and constructive actions to our world as well.

“Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name. Make known His deeds among the peoples; Make them remember that His name is exalted. Praise the Lord in song, for He has done glorious things; Let this be known throughout the earth.” (Isaiah 12: 4-5 New American Standard Bible)

Let’s be actively, genuinely thankful today. Let’s lift our gratitude higher than a simple repetition of nice things that surround us. Let’s remember the Source of good, the very Creator of all, the divine Life that not only expresses love, but is Love itself.

We can celebrate our blessings and open our eyes to riches beyond what we see with our human senses. We can rejoice in and utilize the qualities of God that are forever available, that bring out harmony and that cause us to flourish individually and bring a radiance to our world in need of light.

Let’s, by our own living, show forth grace and peace and love. In this way, we honor God. Verbal thanks is nice but really not sufficient. Do we truly love God’s qualities—peace, truth, love, joy, harmony, unity, righteousness? Then let’s praise God by trusting Him and His wisdom, by worshipping God, good, rather than persons, self, matter, time, circumstances.

Let Thanksgiving resonate deep in your hearts. Live it broadly and boldly in your lives. Let God’s goodness and universal Love be known through you and be ready to relish the bounty that this active gratitude bestows.

“Human affection is not poured forth vainly, even though it meet no return. Love enriches the nature, enlarging, purifying, and elevating it.” (Science and Health, p. 57)

We can rejoice in the wonderful treasure of loving. Expressing love honestly means also feeling love in us, moving through us, and so experiencing a true connection with the source of love—God.

We may feel that our gift of love isn’t received or appreciated. We may feel that love is a tool for getting something in return, that its purpose is to gain affection and appreciation.

But this beautiful quote reminds us that when we love with an open and giving heart, from a pure intention, we do not need an acknowledgement of it or some tangible return from humanity. When love is shared and felt for another in our hearts, it is powerful. The very act of love and the acceptance of its quality in our thoughts and being, enriches us.

To love is never a waste. A relationship may not work out. We may not receive quickly what we hope for through our loving acts. But the Love that is of God, felt and expressed, makes us better. It elevates us. And when we simply love to love, we are set free from the constraints of self to truly enjoy being who we were made to be—the children of God and the very proof of God’s presence. This uplifts us and it never leaves us where it found us.

“How enriched are they who find their strength in the Lord; within their hearts are the highways of holiness!” (Psalms 84:5, the Passion Translation)

We often feel we must draw on our own human strength and intellectual resources. We may count on others to help encourage us and give us advice when the going gets tough.

Of course, we are here to help one another. But we find ourselves much more enriched and truly strengthened when we trust something greater than human will and personal reliance. We find power and a fuller sense of purpose and contentment when we turn to God—divine Truth and Love, infinite Spirit—for our help.

God’s resources are not only limitless, they are just right, precise. He provides us with what is helpful and uplifting, wise and supportive. We find more than just a temporary burst of energy or drive. We feel peace along with the vitality to move ahead, to make new discoveries that are healing. We even gain enough nourishment to help feed others as we progress ourselves.

God’s blessings provide a wholeness and a holiness in our hearts. This opens up pathways of love that lead us out of gloom and discouragement and into a better way of thinking that feels more natural, sweet, and satisfying. In God we find a strength that companions us every day, no matter where we are or what circumstance we are in. His Love abides, feeds, lightens our burdens and illumines our way.

“Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” (I Corinthians 13:7, New Living Translation)

Let’s ponder and cherish what Love is and does. God is Love, and the qualities of His Love are holy and forever expressed. His perfect Love reveals what is right. It comforts, calms, and heals.

This divine Love is ours to feel and know. It is ours to receive, believe, and share freely. Let’s know Love rightly so we can recognize its presence and practice its powerful activity in our lives, for our world.

Human love has its limits. It can be personal. It has elements of self in it, even at its best. But God’s Love is pure, and it is in us. We are, in fact, made of this perfect Love, so it is natural for us to express it in its higher form, by our release to that God-presence, that Christ within us.

This true Love endures. It is infinite, so it doesn’t tire out or get depleted. It isn’t limited in any way, and it stays firm and confident; it simply loves the act of loving, even when things seem chaotic or dark.

No human circumstance causes divine Love to back down. This isn’t a stubborn failure to see reality. It is the fact that Love is all that is truly real, and its persistent, consistent light will always break the gloom and reveal God’s everlasting Truth, His goodness and grace for us all.

“His mind concerning me remains unchanged, and who can turn him from his purposes? Whatever he wants to do, he does. So he will do to me all he has planned, and there is more ahead.” (Job 23: 13-14, Living Bible)

God has a plan for us. He created us with a holy and perfect purpose, and it begins with our fulfilling of His Love. God created us for Love—to be the recipient and expression of this divine affection.

No matter what seems to happen to us in our human lives, God will never change His Mind about us and what we are to Him. We may feel we are affected by time and circumstances out of our control. But God is God. His intention is never thwarted. He has never lost sight of us or of what He would have us see and do and be.

Let’s be awake to all the good God has already brought to us. Let’s stop judging where our lives have been or where we’d like them to go or believe they cannot go. God is the doer of all. He has already done wonderful things for us, right and pleasing, and He will continue to show us even more. God will cause us to grow, revealing new inspiration and direction, and eternally, changelessly loving us.
