“It is absolutely clear that God has called you to a free life.” (Galatians 5: 13, the Message Bible)

God’s law is freedom. This governing principle must surely undergird our lives, releasing us from the bondage of fear and limitation.

God is Love. It is Love that calls us into this life that is free. It is not a freedom from responsibility or a freedom to do whatever we want, without regard for others. Divine Love requires that we know Love’s own intention in this glorious gift.

We are called to realize that our liberty comes from being the children of God, and to gratefully remember this. As we know ourselves rightly, then we joyfully use this awareness for good. As we are loved so we love one another. As we understand our rightful limitless nature and worth, our ability to transcend material obstacles and fear, we can bring this light of true life to bear in our thoughts and behavior.

So, our freedom is a glorious gift for ourselves, but it is also a release from selfishness into the fuller life that freely shares what one has been freely given.

Daily Inspiration, September 26th, 2023

“Light, space, zest—that’s God! So, with him on my side I’m fearless, afraid of no one and nothing.” (Psalms 27: 1, the Message Bible)

When we really know Who God is, we can discover our true fearlessness.

God is on our side, and He has all the qualities expressed in this verse, and so much more. God made us and we are never separate from Him. His nature is light. It is enlightenment to our confusion and ignorance. It is radiance that exposes evil beliefs and fears and washes them away. It is a brightness that uplifts our spirits, makes us laugh.

God is space. He fills infinity with His presence, with His Spirit which is all good, all Love. God is always right where we are. He is never out of range, and we are never disconnected from Him. He dwells in the here and now, in this place and every place. This space is also an openness. It is a wideness of opportunity, capacity, new ideas, fresh and expansive views.

And God is full of zest! He brings to our lives vitality as well as adventure, interest, impact. He is never dull or stagnant. And this lively Life is ours to feel and experience.

We don’t need to be afraid of anything. God is All and He is on our side. His very wonderful qualities are glorified in our being, and His loving presence dissolves any reason to fear.

Daily Inspiration, September 21st, 2023

“The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.” (Isaiah 50: 4)

Listen. God is speaking to you. He is teaching you. The learning that makes you capable of living and sharing the Truth in the world, comes directly from God.

And it comes to us each day. As we wake, we are given daily treasures to add to our store of wisdom, to strengthen us, to give us confidence. God’s gentle voice calls us into being each morning, encouraging us to enter into life with a willingness to take Him at His Word, and to trust this Word to guide us in our individual lives and as forces for good in the world.

God graciously instructs us moment by moment. When we listen, we can know just when and how to comfort others, to guide them into a space of hope and receptivity, to open closed hearts and heal broken ones.

With each day, each new experience, we are given just what we need to accomplish God’s good work, to reflect His intelligence, to speak a healing word of Love.

Daily Inspiration, September 19th, 2023

“Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life emerges! Look at it!” (II Corinthians 5: 17, the Message Bible)

Let’s discover our renewed sense of life and begin to live it. We can look inside—take a deeper look within, to the heart that tells us the Truth of being.

This is the Messiah with us. This is our salvation, our regeneration, our rebirth. It is the Christ-message coming to our human beliefs about life and telling us that the Truth is greater, more wonderful, than what the material senses would report. We can seek that treasured Word that is written within us and awakened by the Christ, stirred forth by our awareness of it.

We are united with the Messiah. We are at one with the Truth, with God and His goodness and Love. This unity means we don’t have to live a life that is small, dim, full of ego and fear. Instead, we can break free and be the ideas that God made—capable of doing and being good, worthy, wonderful, and beloved.

This is a new life, but it is not a hard or scary one! It is accepting and living as we were made naturally to live. It is being true to our identity and experiencing life in a way that is expansive, giving, and grateful!

Daily Inspiration, September 14th, 2023

“The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me. Lord, Your love is eternal; do not abandon the work of Your hands.” (Psalms 138: 8, Holman Christian Standard Bible)

We may be seeking our life purpose or feel that our heart’s aspirations have yet to be fulfilled. But we can recognize that God’s intention for us is always known by Him, and it is God that promises its fulfillment.

God, divine Life and Love, is expressing His nature through us at all times. We can release our hold on human plans and pressures, a feeling of needing to accomplish all things in a precise way—according to some prescribed idea in our own thinking or by one that the world might tell us is right or desirable.

God does not abandon us to figure it out and finish it out. He is our Life, and we can glory in each unfolding opportunity to recognize more of those qualities that make life worth living. We can know that each moment of Truth singing to us, Love embracing us, wisdom being gained, is evidence of our purpose in action.

We can accept that we are God’s work and that our own individual work is not human effort and personal accomplishment. It is a yielding to the eternality of His Love and being each day more of what He made us to be—the necessary and wonderful proof of His gracious goodness.

Daily Inspiration, August 31st, 2023

“Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.” (Exodus 23: 20)

Behold—truly see, observe, be aware of—the presence of angels. Be alert to and follow that inspired and powerful messenger of God that is showing you the way.

Our angels are specifically for us. Just as God sent Moses an angel to lead him onward and to keep him safe in his journey, so does God give us our angels, our wise and loving guides and guardians.

God has prepared His place for us. It is a space of peace and health, well-being and love. It is not a distant place in geography or in time, but it is one that may feel elusive to us at times. This conscious awareness of reality, of our true being and our relationship with God, may seem far-off in the midst of the presentation of the senses and the battering opinions of mortal minds.

But our angels are sent before us. We can follow them. One step at a time. We can let those spiritual ideas, those feelings of assurance and comfort, those twinkling gems of joy, encourage us forward. We can keep pace with those angels and not get discouraged. We can cherish and ponder each beautiful moment of listening and feeling their presence, God’s own wisdom and Love with us.

Let’s be open to our angel guides. Let’s trust God’s Love with us. Let’s not get ahead of those angels but enjoy the progressive walk within the arms of grace.

Daily Inspiration, August 29th, 2023

“For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory:” (Psalms 84: 11)

God is both our protector and our encourager. God, Truth, ensures that we are safe and whole, defended from the evils that would seem to confront us, and comforted within His strong embrace.

We don’t have to look to ourselves or to others for our true security. As we trust in God, in good, in our Father-Mother-Love, we can feel that sunshine that warms our hearts and enlightens our thinking. We recognize that we are not self-reliant mortals, but the immortal expressions of God, and consciously, conscientiously cared for by Him every moment.

And this beautiful relationship with God, this eternal unity with Him, also means that our being and our lives celebrate His nature. We can naturally and gratefully allow ourselves to shine with His radiance, receiving His grace and glory, and being living witnesses to these qualities.

God’s power is our strength and confidence, our protection from danger, our release from fear, and the sunshine of our glory days.

Daily Inspiration, August 24th, 2023

“Love is large and incredibly patient. Love is gentle and consistently kind to all. It refuses to be jealous when blessing comes to someone else. Love does not brag about one’s achievements nor inflate its own importance.” (I Corinthians 13: 4, the Passion Translation)

We can accept and reflect this beautiful ideal of Love. God has built us to express His spiritual affection in the world. We are the proof of His nature and here to glorify all that He is.

And God is Love. His Love is large, truly infinite. It is tender and calming and doesn’t play favorites. This divine Love that belongs to each of us is not full of neediness and selfishness. It rejoices in expressing itself. As we claim this beautiful Love, coming from God and forever developing within us, we can live in this higher and holier way.

We can humbly and gratefully release a sense of needing to feel important, to get validated at every turn, to be better than one another, and simply love because love is powerful, good, and satisfying for the giver as well as the recipient.

We can celebrate goodness wherever we see it, let go of competitiveness, and gently, consistently, express our natural compassion and respect, harmonizing with one and all.

Daily Inspiration, August 22nd, 2023

“I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10: 10)

The Christ came to reveal everlasting Life to the world. Jesus taught and demonstrated the richness that comes of an awakened awareness of the Truth of God.

This Christ, this healing presence of God with us, unfolds a life that is truly worth living and cherishing. As we receive and willingly yield to what Jesus proved, we do more than simply survive human life, we begin to experience a life that is more heavenly. We no longer exist within the limits of mortality and its ultimate end, with each day attended by the fear that shadows our good.

Instead, we claim this more abundant life that Jesus promised us. When our perspective changes to a sense of immortal being, knowing our heritage as children of God—of infinite Life and Love—we see bounty and beauty all around us, and in us to share with others.

Receiving and leaning into this Christly revelation doesn’t make our lives more austere and somber. Being obedient to God’s Truth means releasing to safety, to progress, to peace, and to an abundance of joy.

Our lives are so much more than the small rooms we may put them in. They are grand cathedrals, reverberating with light and life, inspiration and song—the promise of a more abundant life to celebrate every day!

Daily Inspiration, August 17th, 2023

“Immortal Mind feeds the body with supernal freshness and fairness, supplying it with beautiful images of thought and destroying the woes of sense which each day brings to a nearer tomb.” (Science and Health, p. 248)

The mortal mind would feed us with fears and confusion, darkness and gloom. This limited mind is all about finiteness, occupied with time and with matter. It fills our consciousness with trouble and makes us believe it is legitimate.

But this mind is a liar for it is not based in God, in the Truth of Being. Immortal Mind, God, is always here feeding us with those nutritious, progressive, sustaining ideas that have the power of Truth, the ring of reality. Let’s be wise and kind to ourselves. Let’s listen to the honesty of God, rather than the untruths of the mortal and fearful mind.

Immortal Mind continues to remind us of our beauty, our goodness, our heritage as children of God, not the spawn of the dust of the earth. God’s thoughts reveal our grandeur and that of our world. God’s ideas refresh and awaken us to Life. They cast out the fear that a preoccupation with death would bring to our brilliant, vital days.

The woes of sense are not our fate. The joys of Soul are what we are here to feel, express, and share.
