Daily Inspiration, December 3rd

“Identity is the reflection of Spirit, the reflection in multifarious forms of the living Principle, Love.” (Science and Health, page 477)

Who am I? Who are you? How do we identify ourselves? We can look at identity as physical and psychological—based on appearances and traits housed in a limited form. But we are so much more, both individually and collectively.

Identity, the true essence of who we are, is spiritual. Each one of us reflects God’s own nature and character. We are the expression of all that is good and right and beautiful. This identity is not reliant on physiology or human circumstances. It rests serene and safe in God, its origin and continuity. Our identity, our very unique and wonderful individuality, is the unfailing and necessary expression of God and His diversity, infinitude, and perfection.

Know yourself truly. Realize that you are the reflection of the one infallible Principle that is Love. You are one of the multitude of ways that Love makes itself known. And in addition, your genuine and true selfhood sweetly, certainly, powerfully blends with every other identity in God’s grand expression. We are all made to manifest God’s own glory, in our special way, and to harmonize with each other such that Principle, Love, is seen in its powerful entirety—infinite, living, whole, complete, beautiful, vast and varied, and eternally good.

Daily Inspiration, December 1st

“…those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] Will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary, They will walk and not grow tired.” (Isaiah 40: 31, Amplified Bible)

There is gentle power in the pause. When you feel burdened mentally or physically, wearied and depleted, take it as an opportunity to recharge and refill in a way that will do more than just get you through. The deep breaths of divine power regenerate us in our moments and carry us beyond our expectations.

Don’t allow the call to hopelessness and helplessness drag you down into more apathy and weakness. Take these occasions to look to God, to Spirit, to Truth and Love, as your sufficient and bottomless supply and sustenance. As we let our lives rest in the power of God’s Love, not only do we gain energy for our day, we begin to see things like we never have before. Joy and love appear like sunlight on our new and shiny wings, spread wide for soaring.

God is always giving us Life generously and lovingly. Let Him feed you with His comforting care and hold your hand for the daily journey. He companions us with natural power, enthusiasm, and strength. His Love and Life never get drained or discouraged. He is always with us as we walk, run, fly fearlessly, freely, and naturally in the sunlight of promises and peace.

Daily Inspiration, November 26th

Gratitude

“Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.” (Revelation 7: 12)

Amen! Praise goodness. Sing forth gratitude. Recognize the presence of divine wisdom and the power of divine Love. Have a hearty thanksgiving, one full of the conscious awareness of God, of the qualities of good that He is actively expressing for you and for all.

Awake today and every day to the right desire to give, and also the willingness to receive, without argument or reservation. We give thanks to God abundantly as we share in His grace thoroughly, never limiting Love’s boundless supply and the tender love that brings it home to us. We honor Life by living it with gratitude and receptivity, opening our arms to accept good things and our hearts to share eagerly, freely with all.

Thanksgiving Day is a precious reminder, but it isn’t limited to a Thursday in November. It is a stance of gratitude to be cultivated and sustained every day. Feast fully at God’s bountiful table of His own rich qualities—joy, beauty, mercy, strength, love, forgiveness, compassion, peace—and be so very grateful to be grateful, today and every day!

Amen and happy Thanksgiving to all!

hidingplace

“The eternal God is our hiding place; he carries us in his arms.” (Deuteronomy 33: 27, Contemporary English Version)

We are sheltered at all times. God is always keeping us secure, holding us as His beloved children and expression, within the sanctuary of His Life and Love. We are not alone and vulnerable. We are hidden from danger and trouble within God’s perfect embrace.

The world’s presentations and our own fears may loom great and powerful against our composure. We may feel exposed to threats and the woes of material experience, misunderstanding, human opinions. But these slings and arrows are nothing against the shield of God’s eternal Allness and ever-presence. These slanderous accusations have no power to gain entry to our true selves, our real being, held secure in the shelter of divine Truth and Love.

When things seem difficult and would attempt to get you mesmerized, transfixed by events or predictions or regrets, remember where you truly are. You have a precious and permanent place in God’s house, in His conscious awareness, and none of these things can harm you. Know that you are being carried through and over these challenges, like a child, in the arms of God’s holy, loving, harmonious, true purpose. We are always being preserved as evidence of God’s intention, showing forth His good Life—intact, serene, comfortable, beautiful, and safe.

BAPTISM

“My earthly life cleaves to the dust; revive and stimulate me according to Your word!” (Psalms 119: 25, Amplified Bible, Classic Edition)

Material experience can keep us attached to limits, darkened by circumstances, and often covered in blame and shame and guilt. We may feel weighed down by what life seems to have handed us today or in the past, saddled with regrets and fears.

But we have a recourse in God’s Word. His Truth is at the ready to save us from this false gloom and doom. The sense of self as belabored, old, weary, and discouraged is not a hard and heavy thing to get rid of. It is truly only dust to be easily, naturally, rightly, washed away by the living Truth of Life.

Time for a revival! Turn your face and your whole being toward the divine refreshment. God is ready to remind you of who you really are—His very expression, lacking in nothing good and right, and full of the divine energies that know no interruption or diminishing. The Truth of your being as the beloved idea of Love and Life itself is a shower of cleansing and invigorating water upon us. It awakens us to who we really are; it offers the renewal that reminds us that all things are possible to God, and therefore to each of us as His clean, innocent, ready, new, lovely, energized, glorious, vital expression—God’s beloved child and heir to all His promises!

“God did not send his Son into the world to condemn its people. He sent him to save them!” (John 3: 17, Contemporary English Version)

Let’s get one thing straight. Jesus, the expression of the Christ on earth, was not here to shake a finger of shame at us. God revealed the message of the Christ—that truth of our oneness with God, Love—as a saving grace. Jesus spread the word and demonstrated it through his life and his healing. This word always was and is Love.

Those beliefs that would condemn, judge, accuse, and blame mankind for its ignorance, fear, and mistaken sense of things, are the very things Jesus came to clear up. This Christ-light came to earthly perception to reveal that those unkind human opinions had not one iota of power to push down or banish from Eden the child of God. Jesus was the evidence to all of true sonship. He was the wake-up call out of a belief in a guilty Adam and Eve. He was the good news, not the punishing judgment.

Assert and rejoice in your natural innocence. The Christ came to tell us the Truth of ourselves and of God. This Truth was and is love, joy, freedom, and the kingdom of heaven at hand. Jesus instructed us to be children—to recognize our innate innocence and to find heaven by giving up a belief in hell, curse, fear, blame.

Condemnation is not of God. Salvation is His purpose; for in our radiant life we glorify His Life, His Truth, and His everlasting Love!

motherandchild

“I will comfort you there like a mother comforting her child. When you see this happen, you will celebrate; your strength will return faster than grass can sprout.” (Isaiah 66: 13-14, Contemporary English Version)

Our loving Mother is here. God’s comforting presence is at the ready to lead you home to safety, nurture you to health and strength, and set you forth to be productive and happy.

Release your sense of human struggle, ego-driven pride, and willful control. Accept your status as child to a Mother Who is infinite Love. Let Her tenderness embrace you and Her assurances show you why you are secure, cared for, and not left alone to carry a life forward on your shoulders.

We all have moments of fear and feelings of failure or disappointment. These times don’t need to be ones where we judge ourselves and wallow in pity or doubt. These can be occasions to recover, renew, and begin again with the fresh eyes of a child. We can take these opportunities to receive comforting Love. We can willingly listen to the divine Mother’s voice, one that is never condemning, but powerful in kindness, wisdom, and ready with peaceful lullabies.

Feeling this mothering love of God is a time for celebration. For this divine Mother is not only giving you Love, She is also giving you Life—gently calling you forth into a world of new ideas and enthusiasm, just right and perfectly prepared for the child of God that you are!

Daily Inspiration, November 10th

“…Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, regret past sins, live your life in a way that proves repentance; seek God’s purpose for your life], for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 4: 17, Amplified Bible)

Jesus is calling us forth into our joy. He was beckoning his immediate disciples and those of today to give up the old, labored, dark way of thinking and living, and to live God’s own purpose. Repentance doesn’t mean a life of self-condemnation or regrets or feelings of inadequacy. It means we live true to God and to ourselves.

Let’s gladly repent and remember who is at the heart of this activity. It is not human analysis. It is not enumerating the litany of things we feel we have done wrong or the virtues that we feel we are lacking. It is God’s Love that changes us. Repentance is releasing ourselves to what has always been true about us, what God caused and loves, and refusing to continue to believe the accusing lies that would hide our goodness and worthiness.

God’s kingdom of heaven is within. It is the very soul of you—that innocent child that is freshly receptive and ready to learn, to grow, to receive and to live the good that he has been given. Our repentance is not judgment or condemnation. It is a change of thought from the limited and limiting, to the infinite possibilities that are always at hand for the glorious expression of Love that you truly are.

Daily Inspiration, November 5th

soaring-bird

“We must reverse our feeble flutterings—our efforts to find life and truth in matter—and rise above the testimony of the material senses, above the mortal to the immortal idea of God. These clearer, higher views inspire the God-like man to reach the absolute centre and circumference of his being.” (Science and Health, page 262)

Most of us yearn to know ourselves and our potential better. We want to feel at peace with who we are and to discover and live a life that feels expansive and satisfying.

If we are to achieve these right-minded goals, we may have to change focus and direction. Seeking the truth of ourselves and of infinite possibilities in material life and physical presentations is never going to give us the full and true story. We can’t discover the limitless ideal in the limited sense-testimony.

Turn eagerly and often from that accepted picture of yourself as flawed and ignorant, or a victim of circumstances, stuck in a life that is less than glorious. The clearer, higher views can only be found by looking to God, Truth, the very Source of your being. This Creator made you to express Him—to manifest His qualities and goodness and capacity. God loves His idea and knows that what He made is just right.

We reach the center, the heart of our being, through divine Love. And when we get to that essence, that very heart and intention of ourselves, we discover that the circumference of our being is Love as well. This Love is our Life, and it keeps us comfortably protected and safe within its borders, and yet its boundary, the possible reach of our lives as Love, is truly infinite!

Daily Inspiration, November 3rd

“…let us pursue [with enthusiasm] the things which make for peace and the building up of one another [things which lead to spiritual growth].” (Romans 14: 19)

Our lives can be full of many activities and a need to achieve in various areas. We want to make a living and we want to take care of our needs. We can do these things successfully and at the same time bring more goodness to others and to the world, and gain a greater joy ourselves.

Paul is reminding us that our best pursuits are those which include the desire and action to bring peace to our experience. We can go about those activities that we feel led or called to do, but we are best served ourselves and best serve others when we help build each other up. When we compete for good, put others down, judge, or make our lives about winning personal victories at whatever cost, we have missed out on true success.

Instead, we should and can approach all that we are doing (as well as being open to new opportunities) with the thought of including and embracing others, building one another up. In doing so, we are really being more true to ourselves. As we love and give, so are we really satisfied and gain so much more in understanding, peace, and happiness.

Let’s have peace and harmony as our goal, and let us pursue this with enthusiasm! For what is a better thing than to have peace abound, to see those around us grateful and happy, and so to feel the real riches that come of doing good.
