“But now the Lord my God has given me rest on every side; there is neither adversary nor evil occurrence.” (I Kings 5: 4, New King James Version)

God has got us surrounded. Love, Truth, and Life, encircle and protect us. There is nothing that can sneak through God’s impregnable reality. His goodness has us covered.

So, we can rest. We can stop fearing what the future may bring, bracing for trouble and missing this moment by doing so. We can stop looking behind us, ruminating over the past and bringing its challenges into this hour. We are surrounded by God’s Love and His purpose. We are safe.

Leaning on God, we can feel our rightful peace. God is in control of all His ideas, and they are in harmony with one another. We can trust that our adversaries can’t harm us, because, in Truth, we have no enemies. We are all God’s children, subject to His Law and the recipients of His tender, healing affection.

We can be at peace through our conscious recognition that we belong to God, and that His Almighty Spirit is able to protect us, gently assure us, and remind us that evil has no power to keep us from seeing, knowing, and experiencing good today and in the days to come.
