“A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you. Only a spectator shall you be [yourself inaccessible in the secret place of the Most High].” (Psalms 91:7-8, Amplified Bible, Classic Edition)

The Secret Place is God’s Love. It is safety and a vantage point above and beyond the challenges that seem to assail us. We can recognize our protection in this space with God, in the Truth of Being.

When our own troubles or those of the world seem to demand our attention, we don’t need to feel afraid or vulnerable. While the presentation of the material senses and the arguments and predictions of mortals may feel daunting and disturbing, we don’t need to get pulled into the snare of panic or helplessness. We can remember the Allness of God and our oneness with Him.

We don’t dwell in chaos. We dwell in Love and Love’s law abides. Knowing this, pausing to feel that oneness with the light of God, which is our separateness from darkness, we can find and feel an untroubled calm. This conscious connection with God gives us peace as well as inspiration. It doesn’t ignore the evils that seem to have power, but it allows us to face things without overwhelm and with wisdom, trust, humble expectation of good.

The Secret Place is one of insight and clarity. It is always here for us, because God’s Love is always with us. In this Love, we know what is real. Our fear abates. Comfort is felt, and we are fueled with the Love that is able to heal and help all those in need.
