“‘You will not succeed by your own strength or by your own power. The power will come from my Spirit,’ says the Lord of heaven’s armies.” (Zechariah 4: 6, International Children’s Bible)

Our success is not reliant on our own strength or ingenuity. We don’t truly win or make significant progress through personal human efforts. To think that we are responsible for our growth and for the overcoming that may be necessary, is to burden ourselves. To believe that we are personally capable of mighty victory is egotistical.

The Truth is that God empowers us, guides us, directs us. His omnipotence and perfect wisdom are both our release from worry and our reason for rejoicing. Humility naturally lifts us up; for when we lose self, we find God with His Love, ready to show us the better way, the one that is right and healing.

Spirit, not physical might or mental anguish, is where true power comes from. Heaven’s armies are those bold yet gentle divine ideas that promote harmony, peace, and freedom. Let’s rely on that Spirit—God’s infinite, available, goodness—to lead us forward. And let’s be grateful that we’re always on the winning side with God.
