“Then let God weigh me on a truly balanced set of scales. He will know and see my integrity.” (Job 31: 6, the Voice)

The world may judge us by appearances. We may judge ourselves by what we feel we’ve accomplished, compare ourselves to others, or rate and berate ourselves based on our past and its learning experiences.

But we would do better to seek a more balanced consideration. We can turn to God to show us who we really are. He is able to see past our egos and fears and to see into our hearts. God’s perfect Mind, His flawless judgment, sees us clearly. He can discern our true integrity and motives.

God can also see where we may be out of balance with our own highest selfhood, with the idea that He made. Instead of condemning us for this loss of spiritual poise, He helps us see what is weighing us down, and lifts that false sense of self away, cleanses us of what is not helping us shine and flourish.

God sees us truly and knows our real innocence. Whatever the world would say about us or what we may hold to, even cling to, as true about ourselves, is not allowed to remain in God’s scales. We must settle into balance with God’s purpose, and feel that true peace of being good, whole, loving, and beloved.
