“For God, the Faithful One, is not unfair. How can he forget the beautiful work you have done for him? He remembers the love you demonstrate as you continually serve his beloved ones for the glory of his name.” (Hebrews 6:10, the Passion Translation)

We all at times feel that what we do is not appreciated. We may think that we are giving much and receiving little. It may seem like we are unseen and that maybe we would be better off being like others who care more for themselves and less about others, who seem to be thriving by doing less good.

But God has never deserted you or forgotten you. It is He, divine Love, that impels these good works we are doing and supports us in them. He is not only causing us to give to others and to follow His path of righteousness, He is also ensuring that we grow daily in understanding, in strength, in light, in love.

When we are working in God’s name—in the name of good, of love—we are pleasing God, and He sees our love for Him in our kind and beautiful thoughts and actions. We are the very expression of Himself, so when we lovingly work and share; when we humbly yield to His direction for our lives, we are naturally shining with His powerful, impactful light.

And God’s light doesn’t leave you out. You experience it first hand as you utilize it. You are in its glow, and this glow is God’s bountiful gift, His love, overflowing through us and to us.

God is just and fair. He sees you and loves you. You are not His slave, but His precious child—the very object and expression of His abundant Life and Love.
