Daily inspiration, November 2nd

“Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit:” (Ezekiel 18: 31)

Let’s put that all behind us! Let’s step into our new day fresh and free, with a new focus and a renewed devotion. Any wrong thinking or acting of yesterday or five minutes ago, needn’t burden this hour or leave us too tarnished to shine. Each moment we have a new opportunity to do a better thing, live a better way, have a higher hope, and be newly baptized for our life ahead!

Our transgressions–human mistakes and ignorance–are not permanent attachments. They are not a perpetual cross to bear, an obstruction in our path, or some roster of offenses in God’s “big book.” Every moment we are given the occasion for renewed understanding, renewed consecration to good, and to that call to know ourselves as God has always known us—powerful in our innocence, and worthy of His faithful and unlapsing Love,

Our new heart and new spirit are not made of something foreign to us, but is really only our true being reclaimed and accepted. Jesus certainly proved the cleansing Spirit of God’s Truth when he told those of sinful behavior (who seemed to be going against their best nature) to “go and sin no more.” It was that simple. Cast it away. Begin anew. The childish ignorance of yesterday is blessed by the childlike trust of today, and with our new heart and our new spirit, we sing a new song—gratitude, praise, and love!

Thanks Laura for the above daily inspiration! This especially spoke to me, “Every moment we are given the occasion for renewed understanding, renewed consecration to good, and to that call to know ourselves as God has always known us—powerful in our innocence, and worthy of His faithful and unlapsing Love.” I look forward to your daily inspirations every week.
